Inflation and Postal Rates
in Germany 1900 - 1923

In the period 1900 to 1923 Germany underwent inflation, gradual at first, but eventually reaching hyperinflation in 1923. This economic convulsion impacted all aspects of life, including postal rates and the values of the postage stamps printed in an attempt to keep up with the rate changes.
